Ginny studied at the Art Center College of Design and began her graphic design career as an album cover designer at London, Elektra/Asylum and Motown Records in the late 1970s. She received her MFA in graphic design in 1990, the same year she joined the staff of Patagonia as a catalog designer. In 2003 she became a web designer at Sonoma State University, and in 2007 became a web producer for San Diego State University.
